Distributed OTDR-interferometric sensing network with identical ultra-weak fiber Bragg gratings.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
We demonstrate a distributed sensing network with 500 identical ultra-weak fiber Bragg gratings (uwFBGs) in an equal separation of 2m using balanced Michelson interferometer of the phase sensitive optical time domain reflectometry (φ-OTDR) for acoustic ...

Self‐Hybridized Exciton‐Polariton Photodetectors From Layered Metal‐Organic Chalcogenolates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐hybridized exciton‐polariton photodetectors are demonstrated using high refractive index mithrene, eliminating the need for top mirrors. This simplified architecture enables tunable sub‐bandgap photodetection via lower exciton‐polariton states and enhanced carrier transport through ultrafast polariton group velocities.

Recording of the Multiplexed Bragg Diffraction Gratings for Waveguides Using Phase Mask

open access: yesPhotonics, 2020
The paper describes a stable method for multiplexed recording of the Bragg diffraction gratings for waveguides using a phase mask. Diffraction waveguides in this experiment were made of photo-thermo-refractive glass.

Rigorous analysis of extremely asymmetrical scattering of electromagnetic waves in slanted periodic gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Extremely asymmetrical scattering (EAS) is a new type of Bragg scattering in thick, slanted, periodic gratings. It is realised when the scattered wave propagates parallel to the front boundary of the grating.

Temporal analog of Bragg gratings

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2023
Recently, scalar coupled-wave theory has been employed to analyze a medium with periodic time-varying permittivity, providing simple expressions and, consequently, straightforward insights into the parametric amplification mechanism. Here, we combine such an approach with the Möbius transformation method to investigate the dispersion and optical ...

Impact of dispersive and saturable gain/loss on bistability of nonlinear parity-time Bragg gratings. [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2014
We report on the impact of realistic gain and loss models on the bistable operation of nonlinear parity-time (PT) Bragg gratings. In our model we include both dispersive and saturable gain and show that levels of gain/loss saturation can have a ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

An Integrated-Plasmonic Chip of Bragg Reflection and Mach-Zehnder Interference Based on Metal-Insulator-Metal Waveguide

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2022
In this paper, a Bragg reflector is proposed by placing periodic metallic gratings in the center of a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide. According to the effective refractive index modulation caused by different waveguide widths in a period, a ...
