In this paper, a Bragg reflector is proposed by placing periodic metallic gratings in the center of a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide. According to the effective refractive index modulation caused by different waveguide widths in a period, a ...

Biaxial FBG Vibration Sensor With a Single Edge Filter and Matching Demodulation
This work developed, simulated, and characterized a high sensitivity vibration sensor for low-frequency applications. The fiber Bragg grating (FBG) overlapping method was used to demodulate the wavelength shift of the sensing gratings, but only one FBG ...

Temporal analog of Bragg gratings
Recently, scalar coupled-wave theory has been employed to analyze a medium with periodic time-varying permittivity, providing simple expressions and, consequently, straightforward insights into the parametric amplification mechanism. Here, we combine such an approach with the Möbius transformation method to investigate the dispersion and optical ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Nanofibers with Bragg gratings from equidistant holes
We study nanofibers with Bragg gratings from equidistant holes. We calculate analytically and numerically the reflection and transmission coefficients for a single grating and also for a cavity formed by two gratings.

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

ULTRASOUND DETECTION BY APPLYING FIBER BRAGG GRATINGS [PDF]
Subject of Research. This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the possibility of applying single fiber Bragg gratings as sensitive elements for detecting ultrasonic impacts in gaseous or liquid media and at placing fiber Bragg ...

Quadratic behavior of fiber Bragg grating temperature coefficients [PDF]
We describe the characterization of the temperature and strain responses of fiber Bragg grating sensors by use of an interferometric interrogation technique to provide an absolute measurement of the grating wavelength. The fiber Bragg grating temperature

Modelling of Photonic Wire Bragg Gratings [PDF]
Some important properties of photonic wire Bragg grating structures have been investigate. The design, obtained as a generalisation of the full-width gap grating, has been modelled using 3D finite-difference time-domain simulations. Different types of stop-band have been observed.
