Segmenting Brain Tumors with Symmetry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We explore encoding brain symmetry into a neural network for a brain tumor segmentation task. A healthy human brain is symmetric at a high level of abstraction, and the high-level asymmetric parts are more likely to be tumor regions. Paying more attention to asymmetries has the potential to boost the performance in brain tumor segmentation.

Environmental data as sensory experience. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Information visualisations within the field of environmental art are often imbued with an agenda for catalysing changes in behavior. They are political images that rhetorically ask how we might act differently in our relationship to what is being ...

The ADHM Construction of Instantons on Noncommutative Spaces

open access: yes, 2010
We present an account of the ADHM construction of instantons on Euclidean space-time $\mathbb{R}^4$ from the point of view of noncommutative geometry. We recall the main ingredients of the classical construction in a coordinate algebra format, which we ...

Probabilistic Graphical Models for Predicting Properties of New Materials Based on Their Composition and Structure

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Data and Science
Probabilistic graphical model (PGMs) offer a powerful framework for modeling complex relationships between different components. By integrating information on the element composition and structural features, these models enable the inference of ...

Biologically Plausible Brain Graph Transformer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
State-of-the-art brain graph analysis methods fail to fully encode the small-world architecture of brain graphs (accompanied by the presence of hubs and functional modules), and therefore lack biological plausibility to some extent. This limitation hinders their ability to accurately represent the brain's structural and functional properties, thereby ...

Classification of Noni Fruit Ripeness Using Support Vector Machine (SVM) Method

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Data and Science
The classification of Noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) ripeness is essential for maximizing its medicinal benefits and ensuring product quality. This research aimed to classify Noni fruit ripeness using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method, comparing ...

Too Late For Us [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Okay, who\u27s got \u27em? Frankie? Frankie opened up the big grocery sack he was holding and turned it over on the ground. Eight or nine reddish-brown tomatoes came tumbling out, their skins dry and shriveled. A couple were downright rotten..
