Inflammation induced by snake venoms optimizes envenomation

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic illustrating mechanisms underlying direct vascular absorption and subsequent movement of venom toxins into the tissues consequent to snakebite. A, snakebite into prey deposits venom toxins into the tissue interstitium, with the venom then causing acute inflammation primarily in venules.

Sphingosine‐1‐Phosphate Receptor 1 Regulates Competition Dependent Astrocyte Morphogenesis and Tiling in Murine Cortex

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 8, August 2026.
Neuronal contact‐induced expression of S1PR1 in astrocytes is regulated by JAK‐STAT3 signaling. Astrocytic S1PR1 modulates cortical astrocyte morphogenesis. Astrocytic S1PR1 regulates astrocyte territorial overlap/tiling in a competition dependent manner.

Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Bloom Syndrome Presenting With Early‐Onset Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Triple Overlapping Vascular Neurocutaneous Phenotypes: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Bloom syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive chromosomal instability disorder characterized by growth deficiency and early‐onset malignancies, and its coexistence with multiple vascular neurocutaneous syndromes is exceptionally uncommon. We report an 8‐year‐old girl who presented with severe growth failure and persistent pancytopenia.

Belumosudil for Long‐Standing Refractory Chronic Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease: A Two‐Patient Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT In long‐standing fibrotic chronic GVHD refractory to multiple systemic therapies, belumosudil may provide clinically meaningful patient‐reported improvement and reduce infection‐related hospitalizations even when early NIH organ scores remain stable.
