Neurodevelopmental screening in toddlers or preschoolers with sickle cell disease (SCD) predicts future academic deficits. Screening sensitivity for future academic deficits is highest in preschoolers with SCD. Brief neurodevelopmental screening tools can identify high risk children for early intervention.
