Effect of Frictional Force Distribution on Exciting Force of Brake Noise for Motorcycle Disk Brake

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 2006
This paper presents the results of experiment and analysis from view of structural mechanics for brake noise that is serious problem of motorcycle. Some brake bench tests were conducted to some cases of friction force distribution, and it was found that the cause of brake noise was stick-slip effect between brake disk and pads.
