Torque calibration with hysteresis brakes

2016 13th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2016
Starting from static reference values an accurate torque measuring is achieved by hysteresis correction with splines. To generate a constant torque hysteresis brakes are used. By doing this the real device under test can be simulated in the second step of refeeding to national standards.

Ideal regenerative braking torque in collaboration with hydraulic brake system

2017 Twelfth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER), 2017
In the presented hybrid vehicle, the electric motor is used in collaboration with the hydraulic brake system to impose an ideal braking torque to the rear wheel. This, in order to recharge the battery. The first objective aims to recover the maximum kinetic energy available. To achieve this task, the electric motor is used until the reach of its torque

Torque Characteristics of Commercial Vehicle Brakes

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1975
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A new over-the-road brake dynamometer has recently been developed to measure commercial vehicle brake torque at nearly constant speed. In this paper, results are presented from the initial test program of this vehicle.

Brake Steer Torque Optimized Corner Braking of Motorcycles [PDF]

open access: possible, 2017
This thesis deals with the Brake Steer Torque (BST) induced stand-up tendency of Powered Two Wheelers (PTW) and measures to lower the associated risk for running wide on curve accidents with sudden, unforeseen braking. Focus is set on the BST Avoidance Mechanism (BSTAM), a chassis design that eliminates the BST through lateral inclination of the ...

Brief Introduction of Brake Line Pressure and Brake Torque Transmission Model

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
If static model of brake pipe pressure and torque model were used in brake system analysis and neglect their dynamic performance, it could cause bigger difference between simulation results and real condition. Some main dynamic models from experiments research are presented with brief introductions.

Mathematical substantiation of mine locomotive braking efficiency under pulsiting braking torque

Collection of Research Papers of the National Mining University, 2023
Purpose. Determination of braking torque parameters that provide high braking performance of a mine locomotive by mathematical modeling of the braking of a mine locomotive by a disc brake that creates a pulsating braking torque. The methods. Forced vibrations of the elements of the wheel-motor unit (WMU) of a mine locomotive in the process of braking ...

The Torque-Equalized Brake

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1927
<div class="htmlview paragraph"><b>B</b>RAKE action extends from the foot-pedal through various connections and devices to the point of contact of the braked wheel on the ground but, although brake-development work has been extensive for that portion of the brake mechanism which extends from the foot-pedal up to the point of ...

Brake Roughness - Disc Brake Torque Variation, Rotor Distortion and Vehicle Response

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1993
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Noise and vibration related functional characteristics of the disc brake has, for a long time, been the nemesis of the design engineer's existence. New methods of measurement and analysis techniques are providing information which improves the practical assessment of a disc brake design and improves the basic ...

Torque Transfer in Automotive Brakes

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers: Automobile Division, 1962
Recorded brake evaluation tests in automobiles and in a dual-brake inertia dynamometer show continual transfer of torque among the several brakes. The individual brakes seldom exert the designed relative braking torque, because the coefficient of friction is seldom the same in each. Experimental results are given to show torque transfer caused by fade
