Triboelectric–Electromagnetic Generator‐Enabled Hybrid Power Backpack for Self‐Powered Field Safety Management

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A lightweight hybrid backpack integrating SC‐TENGs and R‐EMGs harvests biomechanical energy during walking. With a low activation speed of 3 km h−1 and a high specific power of 0.18 W kg−1, it enables self‐powered field safety management. The power backpack refers to an energy‐harvesting solution engineered to mitigate battery reliance in wearable ...

Application of Multiple Unipolar Axial Eddy Current Brakes for Lightweight Electric Vehicle Braking

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The braking system in a vehicle has the main role of slowing down the speed or stopping the moving vehicle. Compared to mechanical braking, which utilizes friction, non-contact braking has several advantages, including longer lifetime and less ...

Blade Count and Rotational Speed Sensitivity of Vertical‐Axis Turbines Under Guided Vehicle‐Generated Transient Wakes

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Passing vehicles generate short‐duration wakes that can be redirected toward a vertical‐axis turbine. The interaction between wake structure, blade count, and rotational speed governs transient torque production. Low‐solidity configurations combined with tuned rotational speed enhance energy extraction under vehicle‐induced gusts.

Effect of Flux Barriers on Short-Circuit Current and Braking Torque in Dual Three-Phase PM Machine

open access: yes, 2022
This paper investigates the influence of stator flux barriers on the short-circuit current (SCC) and braking torque of a dual three-phase permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machine. By optimizing the position and width of stator flux barriers, the machine

The phenomenon of vehicle park brake rollaway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
When a vehicle is parked on a slope with hot brakes, what appears to be a sufficient parking brake action can sometimes become insufficient. When the brakes cool down, the braking force reduces due to relaxation of the entire parking brake system, and ...

Analysis of Combined Braking Torque on The Regenerative Anti-Lock Braking System in The Quarter Electric Vehicle Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
The regenerative ABS is developed to avoid slip and to regenerate energy using two types of braking: friction and motor. This paper discusses the experimental results of combining the two types of braking which are applied to a quarter-electric ...

Temperature and torque determination in brake drums

open access: yesSadhana, 1993
Simulation of temperature distribution in a brake drum and determination of drum brake torque has been carried out using finite element methods. The simulated temperature distribution and the brake torque determined were compared with observations carried out using an inertia dynamometer with a data-logging system.
