Regulation of Three Key Kinases of Brassinosteroid Signaling Pathway

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2020
Brassinosteroids (BRs) are important plant growth hormones that regulate a wide range of plant growth and developmental processes. The BR signals are perceived by two cell surface-localized receptor kinases, Brassinosteroid-Insensitive1 (BRI1) and BRI1 ...

Uncovering Convergent Pattern Recognition Receptors Recognising Phytophthora Across Plant Lineages

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) are pivotal for plant immunity, yet their discovery in crops is hindered by lineage‐specific divergence. We demonstrate that microbe‐associated molecular patterns (MAMPs) often activate immunity through phylogenetically unrelated, convergently evolved PRRs across plant lineages.

Plant Lipid Droplets and Derived Lipidic Nano‐Assemblies: Structure, Biogenesis and Pharmaceutical Applications

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lipid droplets (LDs) serve as the primary storage site for neutral lipids in plant cells, with growing evidence supporting many additional biological roles, such as in lipid homeostasis, signalling, trafficking, inflammatory responses and inter‐organelle communication.

Updates on BES1/BZR1 Regulatory Networks Coordinating Plant Growth and Stress Responses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Brassinosteroids (BRs) play pivotal roles in the regulation of many dimensions of a plant’s life. Hence, through extensive efforts from many research groups, BR signaling has emerged as one of the best-characterized plant signaling pathways.

The Zma‐miRNA319‐ZmMYB74 Module Regulates Maize Resistance to Stalk Rot Disease by Modulating Lignin Deposition

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stalk rot, primarily caused by Fusarium graminearum (Fg) and Pythium inflatum (Pi), is a major maize disease responsible for significant yield losses. The molecular mechanisms governing defence against these pathogens remain poorly understood. To uncover key miRNAs and their regulatory genes, small RNA, degradome, and transcriptome sequencing ...

RD26 mediates crosstalk between drought and brassinosteroid signalling pathways

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Brassinosteroids (BRs) regulate plant growth and stress responses via the BES1/BZR1 family of transcription factors, which regulate the expression of thousands of downstream genes.

Improved Longan Genome Assembly Reveals Insights Into Flowering Mechanisms

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Longan is an exotic tropical fruit crop and exhibits off‐season flowering induced by potassium chlorate (KClO3), though the molecular mechanisms remain unclear. We assembled a high‐quality, 441.5 Mb genome of variety ‘Shixia’, with a contig N50 at 28.1 Mb, 29, 325 protein‐coding genes, 26 telomeres and 15 centromeres.

Effect of 24-Epibrassinolide Plant Hormone Rates on the Level of Macronutrients in Forage Sorghum Plants Subjected to Water Deficit and Rehydration

open access: yesGrasses
Forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.)) is a cereal native to Africa and belongs to the family Poaceae. It is a forage with a C4 photosynthetic pathway that stands out for its ability to adapt to different environments; it is able to produce even in ...

GSK2 Stabilizes OFP3 to Suppress Brassinosteroid Responses in Rice.

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, 2020
Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a class of phytohormones that modulate several important agronomic traits in rice (Oryza sativa). GSK2 is one of the critical suppressors of BR signaling and targets transcription factors such as OsBZR1 and DLT to regulate BR ...

WRKY27‐RAP2.7 Regulatory Module Promotes Cold Tolerance via Modulation of Lignin Biosynthesis and Redox Homeostasis by Regulating Cinnamyl Alcohol Dehydrogenase 7 and Glutathione S‐Transferase F6

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cold stress adversely affects plant growth and development, significantly limiting fruit yield and quality in citrus. Ichang papeda (Citrus ichangensis), a cold‐tolerant citrus species, serves as a valuable genetic resource for studying cold adaptation, yet the key genes and their modes of action underlying the cold stress response remain ...
