This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Avalanches in Breakdown and Fracture Processes
We investigate the breakdown of disordered networks under the action of an increasing external---mechanical or electrical---force. We perform a mean-field analysis and estimate scaling exponents for the approach to the instability.

Depth weighted scatter estimators [PDF]
General depth weighted scatter estimators are introduced and investigated. For general depth functions, we find out that these affine equivariant scatter estimators are Fisher consistent and unbiased for a wide range of multivariate distributions, and ...

Effect of the Competitive Adsorption of Borate and Chloride Ions on the Breakdown Potential of Iron
The effect of acl−aB(OH)4−on the passivity breakdown for pure iron in borate buffer solution containing chloride ions has been studied and the results also have been analyzed using the Point Defect Model (PDM).

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Break up of heavy fermions at an antiferromagnetic instability
We present results of high-resolution, low-temperature measurements of the Hall coefficient, thermopower, and specific heat on stoichiometric YbRh2Si2. They support earlier conclusions of an electronic (Kondo-breakdown) quantum critical point concurring ...

Flaxseed Oil Testing to Determine its Suitability as an Alternative to Transformer Oil [PDF]
This study aims to assess the feasibility of using flaxseed oil as an alternative to transformer oil. Petroleum, a non-renewable resource with a negative environmental impact, is the basis of the transformer oil currently in use.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic
