EGFR-Mutated Breast Metastasis of Lung Adenocarcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2015
Breast metastasis from other primary carcinoma is very rare and could be difficult to identify despite immunohistochemistry analysis. Breast metastasis from lung adenocarcinoma can mimic triple-negative breast cancer.

Denosumab treatment is associated with the absence of circulating tumor cells in patients with breast cancer

open access: yesBreast Cancer Research, 2018
Background The presence of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with breast cancer correlates to a bad prognosis. Yet, CTCs are detectable in only a minority of patients with progressive breast cancer, and factors that influence the abundance of ...

Hubungan Kadar Cancer Antigen 15-3 Serum dengan Metastasis Kanker Payudara

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Indonesia, 2021
Background: CA 15-3 serum is one of the tumor marker that has been recommended by American Soviety of Clinical Oncology to show the response of the therapy, prognosis and metastasis of the breast cancer.

The tumor suppressor DACT3 sensitizes triple-negative breast cancer to apatinib by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin pathway

open access: yesTranslational Oncology
Apatinib, a small-molecule inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), shows efficient antitumor activity in heavily pretreated metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Single-Cell Transcriptomics Reveals the Potential Role of GZMK+ CD8+ T Cells in Cell Senescence of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics
Senescence is a critical risk factor for the development of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), yet its specific impact on the disease remains inadequately understood.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Orbital Metastasis of Breast Carcinoma

open access: yesBreast Cancer: Basic and Clinical Research, 2009
We report a case of orbital metastasis in a previously diagnosed metastatic breast cancer in a 46-year old woman presenting with diplopia and proptosis of her left eye bulb. An orbital computed-tomography (CT) and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) both revealed an intra-orbital extra-bulbar mass of 1.5 × 3 cm in size, in the left orbit.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

C1QL1 inhibits breast cancer through the HSP90α/VCP-ERS/UPR axis

open access: yesExperimental and Molecular Medicine
Our earlier research discovered that C1QL1 was expressed less in breast cancer (BrCa) tissues than in normal breast tissues by analyzing the gene profile of RNA sequences.
