Dimensions of spaces of Siegel cusp forms of degree 2 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We give a summary of results for dimensions of spaces of cuspidal Siegel modular forms of degree 2. These results together with a list of dimensions of the irreducible representations of the finite groups GSp(4,Fp) are then used to produce bounds for dimensions of spaces of newforms with respect to principal congruence subgroups of odd square-free ...

Branching Random Walk in an inhomogeneous breeding potential [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We consider a continuous-time branching random walk in the inhomogeneous breeding potential $\beta|.|^p$, where $\beta > 0$, $p \geq 0$. We prove that the population almost surely explodes in finite time if $p > 1$ and doesn't explode if $p \leq 1$. In the non-explosive cases, we determine the asymptotic behaviour of the rightmost particle.

The presence of extreme feather peckers in groups of laying hens

open access: yesAnimal, 2017
Feather pecking is a serious economic and welfare problem in laying hens. Feather damage occurs mainly through severe feather pecking (SFP). Selection experiments have proved that this behavior is heritable and lines have been divergently selected for ...

Integrating remote sensing data assimilation, deep learning and large language model for interactive wheat breeding yield prediction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Yield is one of the core goals of crop breeding. By predicting the potential yield of different breeding materials, breeders can screen these materials at various growth stages to select the best performing. Based on unmanned aerial vehicle remote sensing technology, high-throughput crop phenotyping data in breeding areas is collected to provide data ...

The optimal timing of reintroducing captive populations into the wild [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We examine a conservation problem in which the recovery of an endangered species depends on a captive breeding and reintroduction program. The model is applied to the case of the black-footed ferret (Mustela nigripes), an endangered species in North America reliant on captive breeding for survival.

BOAMBE DE COTNARI’ SWEET CHERRY CULTIVAR AND THEIR DESCENDANTS [PDF]

open access: yesFruit Growing Research, 2013
‘Boambe de Cotnari’ is the most appreciated and the most widespread sweet cherry cultivar of the North - Eastern area of Romania. Therefore, in the breeding sweet cherry programs from Romania is often used as maternal or paternal genitor.

Breeding Programs Optimization with Reinforcement Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Crop breeding is crucial in improving agricultural productivity while potentially decreasing land usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and water consumption. However, breeding programs are challenging due to long turnover times, high-dimensional decision spaces, long-term objectives, and the need to adapt to rapid climate change.
