Briarenol A, a new diterpenoid from a gorgonian 'Briareumsp. (Briareidae) [PDF]
Natural Product Research, 2005 A new polyoxygenated briarane-type diterpenoid, briarenol A (1), has been isolated from a gorgonian coral belonging to the genus Briareum. The structure, including the relative stereochemistry of briarane 1, was elucidated by the interpretation of spectral data. The configuration of 1 was further supported by molecular mechanics calculations.

Briaviodiol A, a New Cembranoid from a Soft Coral Briareum violacea
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2010 A new cembrane diterpenoid, briaviodiol A (1), has been isolated from a soft coral Briareum violacea. The structure of 1 was determined by spectroscopic methods and further confirmed by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
