Effects of soda lime glass waste on the physical, mechanical and aesthetics properties of sanitary-ware glazes [PDF]
Recycling some waste industrial products in the traditional ceramics is a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. This work focused on the incorporation of soda lime glass waste (SLGW) in the manufacturing of sanitary ware glazes.

The Effects of Washing between Hydrogen Peroxide Bleaching Stages on Brightness Reversion of a Spruce High-Yield Pulp [PDF]
The final brightness of a bleached high-yield pulp paper product is a very important factor in determining the quality of the pulp and the product. If the brightness of this product tends to revert in time, then the quality of the product could be viewed

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

A Comparison Between Alkali Peroxide and Activated Peroxide Processes in Bleaching Hardwoods Chemi-mechanical Pulp [PDF]
Unbleached chemi-mechanical pulp of 85% pulp yield and produced from hornbeam, beech and populus woods respectively by 3:1:1 ratio, was used for peroxide bleaching. Two bleaching systems, alkali peroxide (conventional bleaching) and activated peroxide by

The effects of pre-treatment and consistency on treatment time and brightness of bagasse alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp [PDF]
Preparation and pre-treatment of raw material influences the pulp production time and color elimination. Pulp consistency during the treatment also influences the color reaction.

Breaks in surface brightness profiles and radial abundance gradients in the discs of spiral galaxies
We examine the relation between breaks in the surface brightness profiles and radial abundance gradients within the optical radius in the discs of 134 spiral galaxies from the CALIFA survey. The distribution of the radial abundance (in logarithmic scale)

The nature of solar brightness variations [PDF]
Determining the sources of solar brightness variations1,2, often referred to as solar noise3, is important because solar noise limits the detection of solar oscillations3, is one of the drivers of the Earth’s climate system4,5 and is a prototype of ...

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
