The range of validity of cluster masses and ages derived from broad-band photometry [PDF]
AbstractI analyze the stochastic effects introduced by sampling the stellar initial mass function (SIMF) in the derivation of the individual masses and the cluster mass function (CMF) from broad-band visible/near-infrared unresolved photometry. The classical method of using unweighted U BV photometry to simultaneously establish ages and extinctions of ...

PGC‑1α downregulation in hippocampal astrocytes disrupts ATP release and reduces connexin 43 (CX43) expression, impairing neuro‑glial communication. This promotes enhanced fear memory retrieval in PTSD. Chemogenetic activation of astrocytes or PGC‑1α agonist treatment rescues both CX43 expression and fear behavior, identifying astrocytic PGC‑1α/CX43 as

Comets, relics from the early solar system, consist of dust and ice. The ice sublimates as comets approach the Sun, ejecting dust from their nuclei seen as activity.

Drug Product Development of Lipid Nanoparticle‐Based mRNA Therapeutics and Vaccines
Overview of the development path from an mRNA–lipid nanoparticle (LNP) concept to a licensed drug product, covering LNP design, manufacturing process development, formulation, and analytical characterization. ABSTRACT Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) are currently the most relevant non‐viral delivery systems for mRNA and occasionally for smaller nucleic acids

The Discovery of the Faintest Known Milky Way Satellite Using UNIONS
We present the discovery of Ursa Major III/UNIONS 1, the least luminous known satellite of the Milky Way, which is estimated to have an absolute V -band magnitude of $+{2.2}_{-0.3}^{+0.4}$ mag, equivalent to a total stellar mass of ${16}_{-5}^{+6}$ M _⊙ .

ABSTRACT Circulating serum biomarkers have prognostic value in patients with advanced NSCLC, yet their potential still remains underappreciated at present. This review discusses classical approaches of biomarker data analysis, highlighting gaps, and summarizing current methodologies to evaluate the relationship between serum biomarkers and clinical ...

Brightness Behavior of Distant Oort Cloud Comets
Dynamically new comets provide important insights into the conditions of the presolar nebula and its evolution, as they are believed to have experienced minimal solar heating before their discovery.

ULTI-WAVELENGTH MONITORING OF THE CHANGING-LOOK AGN NGC 2617 DURING STATE CHANGES
Optical and near-infrared photometry, optical spectroscopy, and soft X-ray and UV monitoring of the changing-look active galactic nucleus NGC 2617 show that it continues to have the appearance of a type-1 Seyfert galaxy.

Multimeric IgM‐fragment crystallizable region (Fc) fragments retain the ability to bind C1q and initiate the classical complement pathway, leading to C4 activation and deposition in vitro. However, the Fc cores can also inhibit complement‐dependent cytotoxicity by competing with surface‐bound antibodies for C1q engagement.
