The Landscape of Salmonella enterica Serovar Gallinarum–Pullorum Antimicrobial Resistance in Bangladesh's Poultry Industry: A Combined Phenotypic and Molecular Study

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Salmonella enterica serovar Gallinarum–Pullorum isolated from chickens reveals a critical 89.13% prevalence of multidrug resistance. High phenotypic resistance to amoxicillin and tetracycline is genetically underpinned by a robust presence of resistance‐conferring genes (notably tetA, sul1, and blaCMY), highlighting a significant zoonotic threat to ...

Prevalence, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Resistance Gene Profiles of Extended‐Spectrum β‐Lactamase‐Producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolated From Quails in Sylhet, Bangladesh

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
This study investigated the molecular epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from quails in Bangladesh. High prevalence of E. coli, including Shiga toxin‐producing strains, and widespread multidrug resistance were observed.

Maternal Prenatal Supplements Intake and Dietary Sources and Their Relation to Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Population of Bangladesh

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Consuming prenatal supplements, farmed chicken/eggs, and vegetables during pregnancy and the first 3 years of life showed protective relation with ASD compared with healthy controls. Consuming farmed fish and fruits during the same period, alongside maternal substance/drug misuse during pregnancy linked to increased ASD odds.

Surveying the Farmer Survey: A Synthesis of Research Practices in the Netherlands, Slovenia and Sweden

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 77, Issue 2, Page 460-476, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Research based on farmer surveys is a cornerstone of agricultural economics. Farmer surveys provide unique insights into behavioural variables—such as values, motivations, attitudes, behaviours, and preferences—that are unavailable in secondary datasets.

A vaccination programme combining a live attenuated Salmonella Typhimurium and an autogenous inactivated Salmonella Enteritidis vaccine confers protection and reduces ovarian colonisation with the Salmonella Enteritidis isolate 7A, PT12

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page 395-403, June 2026.
Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SE) can colonise chicken ovaries and contaminate eggs, posing a global risk of human gastroenteritis, often linked to raw or undercooked eggs. Control options for SE outbreaks in Australia are limited; autogenous SE vaccines are commonly used, while live attenuated Salmonella Typhimurium (ST) vaccines are ...
