Solvent-free synthesis of molecular bromine and its application for in situ bromination of aromatic compounds [PDF]
Synthesis of molecular bromine in solvent-free reaction was studied using two different reaction mixtures. The first mixture consisted of solid KNO3 and gaseous HBr, while the second setup used solid NaBr, KNO3 and gaseous HCl.

Thermal and photobromination of octahydro-1H-indene and octahydro-1H-4,7-methanoindene were investigated. Three isomeric tetrabromides (1,3,4,7-tetrabromo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1-H-indene) were formed along with a smaller amount of tribromoindane and a ...

Hypervalent Iodine-Mediated Chemoselective Bromination of Terminal Alkynes
Practical approaches for chemoselective mono-bromination, di-bromination, and tetra-bromination of terminal alkynes to generate 1-bromoalkynes, 1,2-dibromoalkenes, α,α-dibromoketones, and 1,1,2,2-tetrabromoalkanes based on efficient oxidative ...

Chlorination and bromination of olefins: Kinetic and mechanistic aspects.
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is typically assumed to be the primary reactive species in free available chlorine (FAC) solutions. Lately, it has been shown that less abundant chlorine species such as chlorine monoxide (Cl2O) and chlorine (Cl2) can also ...
