Bronchial Involvement by Hodgkin Disease

Two cases of Hodgkin disease, lymphocyte depletion type, with bronchial involvement are described. One patient revealed involvement of the right upper lobar bronchus, the other patient of the left main bronchus. The correct diagnosis was made by fiberbronchoscope examination with cytologic brushing and biopsy.

A 57-year-old man who died suddenly with severe bilateral mainstem bronchial collapse is described, and an alteration of the elastic tissue in the membranous portion of the bronchi is identified. Neurogenic mechanisms in bronchial inflammatory diseases

Neurogenic inflammation encompasses the release of neuropeptides from airway nerves leading to inflammatory effects. This neurogenic inflammatory response of the airways can be initiated by exogenous irritants such as cigarette smoke or gases and is characterized by a bi‐directional linkage between airway nerves and airway inflammation.

Bronchial Brush Biopsy in Hodgkin's Disease

Bronchial disease and bronchography in pulmonary tuberculosis

Summary A description is given of bronchial disease in an unselected group of 238 patients with active post-primary tuberculosis. Bronchiectasis was demonstrated on bronchography in 187 cases (78 per cent.), bronchostenosis of major bronchi in 31 cases (13 per cent.).
