Bronopol allergic contact dermatitis

Contact Dermatitis, 1983
Bronopol (2‐bromo‐2‐nitropropane‐1, 3‐diol) is an antimicrobial widely used as a preservative, primarily in cosmetic formulations. Analysis of patch tests performed on our patients revealed an incidence of 12.5% relevant positive results to 0.5% and/or 0.25% bronopol.

Contact allergy to Bronopol

Contact Dermatitis, 1990
A total of 8149 patients were patch tested with the preservative Bronopol in 7 European contact clinics. The Majority of patients (6507) were investigated in London. Reactivity was low, with a total of 10 irritant (0.12%) and 38 allergic reactions (0.47%).

A rapid method for detecting bronopol in fresh fish, shrimp, crab, and shellfish samples using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

Journal of Chromatography A, 2023
Fish farming plays a vital role in providing food, nutrition, and employment globally. However, this industry faces security challenges, necessitating the use of fungicides and preservatives, such as bronopol, to increase product yields.

Enhanced electrocatalytic production of H2O2 at Co-based air-diffusion cathodes for the photoelectro-Fenton treatment of bronopol

open access: yesApplied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2019
(Co, S, P)-decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have been synthesized following a hydrothermal route as electrocatalysts to manufacture large surface area air-diffusion cathodes with carbon cloth as substrate.

Predictive performance of auto-aerated immobilized biomass reactor treating anaerobic effluent of cardboard wastewater enriched with bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropan-1,3-diol) via artificial neural network

, 2021
Anaerobically-pretreated cardboard wastewater (APCW) contains significant residuals of organics, nitrogen species and coarse suspended solids, making the effluent quality not complying for disposal.

Effects of different bronopol treatments on final survival rates in the artificial incubation of crayfish eggs (Pacifastacus leniusculus, Astacidae)

open access: yesAquaculture Research, 2013
Two experiments were conducted on the effects of bronopol in the artificial incubation of crayfish eggs (Pacifastacus leniusculus) with the aim to search an alternative to formaldehyde. In the first experiment, 50, 250, 500 and 1000 ppm bronopol and 3000

Rapid ultraviolet spectrophotometric determination of bronopol: application to raw material analysis and kinetic studies of bronopol degradation

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1996
A simple and rapid spectrophotometric assay is described for bronopol determination in raw material. The method is based on the measurement of absorbance (at 244 nm) of bromonitroethanol (sodium salt of aci-form), the chromophoric derivative formed from bronopol instantaneously by a retroaldol reaction in the presence of 0.1 M NaOH. This derivative has
