Analysis of the mutant selection window and killing of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae for doxycycline, tylosin, danofloxacin, tiamulin, and valnemulin.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the major pathogenic microorganism causing enzootic pneumonia in pigs. With increasing resistance of M. hyopneumoniae to conventional antibiotics, treatment is becoming complicated. Herein, we investigated the mutant selection

On the road: Communicating traffic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
How do people communicate in mobile settings of interaction? How does mobility affect the way we speak? How does mobility exert influence on the manner in which talk itself is consequential for how we move in space?

Biomimetic Nanoplatform for Dual Target Nano‐Metabolic Therapy in Diabetes‐Associated Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic GOx/Arg‐loaded nanoplatform produces nitric oxide through an in situ catalytic cascade reaction, enabling dual‐target metabolic regulation in diabetes‐associated biofilm infections. Bacterial metabolism is disrupted, and macrophage immunometabolism is reprogrammed, resulting in biofilm eradication, immune restoration, and enhanced ...

Microalgae Hybrid Biosystem for Enhanced Oral Delivery of Rifaximin in Hepatic Encephalopathy Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The microalgae‐nanoparticle hybrid system with antibacterial activity can improve the oral delivery and therapeutic efficiency for hepatic encephalopathy treatment. Oral administration of the system can reduced systemic ammonia levels, enhanced intestinal barrier function, attenuated systemic and neuroinflammation, ameliorated cognitive impairments ...

Population analysis of Escherichia coli isolates with discordant resistance levels by piperacillin-tazobactam broth microdilution and agar dilution testing

open access: yes, 2014
Population analysis was performed for 42 Escherichia coli isolates to determine whether heterogeneity of resistance was a factor in piperacillin-tazobactam category differences between agar dilution and broth microdilution.

Inhalable ROS‐Responsive Nanospray Activates PPAR‐γ to Restore Macrophage Mitochondrial Homeostasis and Attenuate Radiation‐Induced Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nebulized nanoassembly alleviates radiation‐induced lung injury by reprogramming macrophages through coordinated ROS scavenging, NAD+ replenishment, and PPAR‐γ activation. Redox balance, mitochondrial homeostasis, and immune regulation are restored, revealing a microenvironment‐centered strategy for localized radioprotection.

Comparison of Etest, agar dilution, broth microdilution and disk diffusion methods for testing in vitro activity of levofloxacin against Staphylococcus spp. isolated from neutropenic cancer patients

open access: yes, 2002
-The susceptibility to levofloxacin of 194 consecutive staphylococcal (45 Staphylococcus aureus and 149 coagulase-negative staphylococci) isolates from neutropenic patients was determined by Etest and the results compared with those obtained using NCCLS ...
