Design and Optimisation of Novel Outer Rotor Five‐Phase Field‐Wound Flux Switching Machine for Direct‐Drive Application

The paper introduces a novel five‐phase outer rotor field‐wound flux switching machine with non‐overlapping windings and analyses four rotor pole topologies for improved performance. Among these, the 10 slot/11 pole design achieved the best results, with high flux linkage, torque and minimal cogging torque.
