Intracellular Logistics of BST-2/Tetherin
Current HIV Research, 2012Bone marrow stromal antigen 2 (BST-2) is a type II membrane protein with two targeting signals, one of which is located in the cytoplasmic domain and contains a non-canonical dual tyrosine-based motif responsible for its endocytosis from the plasma membrane, and the other is a C-terminal glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor that facilitates its ...

Genomic structure of human BST-1
Immunology Letters, 1996BST-1 is an ectoenzyme expressed on human bone marrow Stromal cells and myeloid lineage cells, having both ADP-ribosyl cyclase and cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) hydrolase activities. In mouse, BST-1 is also expressed on lymphoid progenitors. We isolated chromosomal DNA segments of the human BST-1 gene. The human BST-1 gene consisted of nine exons and eight

Abstract : The SED Basic Skills Trainers (BST), which display targets moving over a background terrain scene, use a layer of graphics software we call the graphics platform to deal with the low-level construction of each video frame. The graphics platform used in the trainers fielded to date was mostly developed in the late 1990s and has limited ...

63 species of the genus Apion were registered first for Daghestan, 16 of them are new in the entomofauna of the entire Caucasus. Only 30% of the spcies occurred in all natural area. The fauna of Curculionidae from the genus Apion is the richest in the region of foothills and montane belt in the open areas (in mountain meadows and steppes).

"Higher production will hurt the small producer, increase stress and enhance disease". These cliches are not new and have accompanied most major changes in the dairy industry dealing with milk production. They are not all untruths, and many management changes have affected exposure and risk to both metabolic and infectious diseases which challenge our ...

Segmenting the Milk Market into bST-Produced and Non-bST-Produced Milk
1993This paper discusses the value to milk producers and consumers of segmenting the milk market into bST-produced milk and non-bST-produced milk markets, versus losing milk consumption from consumers who will not consume bST-produced milk. Results indicate that both bST-using producers and non-bST-using producers benefit from a segmented market when ...

As milk production increases 2 to 3 percent annually, nutrient demands for high producing cows will continue to be a major management challenge. Minnesota DHI data illustrate the shift in feeding programs and strategies as milk yield increases. Bovine somatotropin (BST) is biotechnology that could increase milk yield 5 to 15 percent in the future ...
