Buckling Stability of Additively Manufactured Isogrid
American Society for Composites 2018, 2018This work investigated the buckling stability of isogrid panels manufactured using fused deposition modelling (FDM). In particular, it verified the use of existing closed form analytical solutions and finite element analyses for predicting both global and local buckling loads and modes for these structures.

Buckling Stability Analysis of Micro Spring
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Micro springs are often served in the fuzes MEMS-based safe and arm systems as force and energy transmission elements, which are critical to guarantee the fuze safe and arm systems' safety in normal time and proper function after launching. While the micro springs are easy to get buckled under pressure thus influence the normal function, to avoid that,

Elastic Stability, Buckling and Post-Buckling Behaviour
1981Elastic stability is perhaps the oldest topic in finite elasticity theory. Stability in the sense of Lyapunov is essentially a dynamic concept. Dynamics of continuous media find their proper place under the wings of thermodynamics. The thermodynamic foundation of the theory of elastic stability is now fairly secure, thanks to Duhem and Ericksen.

Stability of an elastic rod buckling into a soft wall
Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2005The conjugate point theory of the calculus of variations is extended to apply to the buckling of an elastic rod in an external field. We show that the operator approach presented by Manning (Manning et al . 1998 Proc. R. Soc. A 454 ,

Hysteresis Analysis and Feedback Stabilization of Snap-through Buckling
2007 American Control Conference, 2007We study a preloaded two-bar linkage that exhibits hysteresis due to the presence of multiple attracting equilibria. The dynamics at the unstable equilibrium, through which a snap-through buckle occurs, are not linearizable due to a singularity that is solution-dependent.

DESIGN OF MEMS-BASED STABILIZATION FOR BUCKLING CONSTRAINED STRUCTURES
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2001Linear buckling of plates and columns is a critical design parameter in many engineering systems. Active stabilization of buckling constrained structures promises positive tradeoffs in terms of mass and performance. An optimal design method for actively stabilizing structural instability, while guaranteeing the performance and stability of the closed ...

Out-of-Plane Stability of Buckling-Restrained Braces
Structures Congress 2011, 2011Large-scale shake table tests were performed to examine the out-of-plane stability of buckling-restrained braces (BRBs). Two specimens were subjected repeatedly to a near-fault ground motion with increasing magnitude. The test specimens comprised a single-bay, single-story steel frame and a pair of BRBs placed in a chevron arrangement.

Nonlinear Stability and Dynamic Buckling of Autonomous Dissipative Systems
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1995AbstractAn analytical approach for the stability and the dynamic buckling response of multiple‐parameter dissipative systems described by autonomous differential equations is presented. Attention is focused on general imperfect structural systems with or without symmetric imperfections including statically stable systems which display also an unstable ...

Stability of Tubular Steel Structures : Buckling and Lateral Torsional Buckling
