The definition of the critical buckling load beam model and two-dimensional model of the round cylindrical shell that interact with the soil

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2019
Aims of research. The research is aimed at determining the critical buckling load at which the shell interacting with the soil loses equilibrium stability, and finding the buckling mode of the shell in the linear and nonlinear formulations of the task ...

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Flexural Buckling Failure of Rock Slopes: A Review of Influencing Factors and Analysis Methods

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The flexural buckling failure is a relatively common instability phenomenon in rock slopes both at the small and large scale. It poses a serious threat to the normal operation and maintenance of nearby infrastructure and the life and property safety of ...

Dynamically Actuated Reconfigurable Topographical Surface Enables Active Control of Implant‐Associated Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dynamically actuated reconfigurable topographical surface (DARTS) integrates contact‐mediated bactericidal nanotopography with programmable mechanical actuation to actively disrupt bacterial biofilms. Dynamic surface reconfiguration enhances bacterial killing and suppresses implant‐associated infections in vivo, providing a new strategy for active ...

Gradient‐Conductivity Architecture Enables Synchronous Enhancement of Sensitivity and Detection Range in Multifunctional All‐Paper Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gradient‐engineered all‐paper sensor is fabricated by integrating MXene and in situ grown AgNPs within hierarchical cellulose networks. The device breaks the sensitivity–detection range trade‐off through cascaded conductive pathways, enabling ultrahigh pressure sensitivity, humidity–pressure decoupled dual‐mode sensing, and outstanding EMI shielding,

Numerical Simulation Analysis of Influencing Factors of Buckling Stability of Deep Sea Ball Valve

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2017
To ensure that the deep sea ball valve does not appear local or overall buckling failure under differential pressure and other external loads, the influence factors of buckling stability of deep sea ball valve have been studied.

In Situ Magnetic Ordering and Microfabrication of Liquid Crystal Networks with Discretized Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Miniaturizing liquid crystal network actuators typically demands costly laser writing or digital light processing. A low‐cost photolithography platform couples rotating photomasks with a Halbach magnetic array to discretize in‐plane molecular alignment down to 50 µm, producing programmable, light‐responsive grippers, checkerboards, and origami‐inspired

ON THE STABILITY OF FRAME MEMBERS IN A GLOBAL BUCKLING

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1997
In the global buckling of a framed structure, members are examined for their own stabilities. It is shown that, besides the actual member forces exerted, there can be considered a critical axial force of each member determined by its displacement mode in the global buckling. The effective lengths of members are defined for those critical forces.
