African Buffalo Social Dynamics: What Is a Buffalo Herd?

open access: yes, 2023
The ecology of the African buffalo (Syncerus caffer) has been the focus of extensive research studies over the past 50 years (Grimsdell, 1969; Sinclair, 1977; Taylor, 1985; Prins, 1996), including some more observational ones (e.g. Mloszewski, 1983).

Buffalo milk increases viability and resistance of probiotic bacteria in dairy beverages under in vitro simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2020
Probiotic dairy beverages prepared from buffalo and cow milks with different levels of whey (0, 25, and 50%) were evaluated for kinetic fermentation parameters, protein and fat contents, post-acidification profile, viability of Streptococcus thermophilus,

Electric Pulse Regulated MXene Based Nanozymes for Integrative Bioelectricity Immuno‐Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenzyme‐mediated bioelectricity cancer therapy (MXenzyme‐BECT) enhances cancer cell death through irreversible depolarization, ion channel disruption, ROS generation, and immunogenic cell death. Computational simulations reveal the electrical mechanisms by which MXenzyme acts on single cells and support to predict treatment parameters. Next‐generation

Dynamically Adaptive Wrinkle‐Structured Light‐Regulating Films for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable, moisture‐responsive cellulose nanofibril/polyvinyl alcohol (CNF/PVA)‐glycerol film with switchable wrinkled surfaces for dynamic light regulation is developed. Compared to glass, it achieves tunable light diffusion for daylight harvesting, thermal regulation, and privacy control.
