This work introduces a swelling‐induced, stress‐assisted water‐soluble PVA tape strategy to transfer‐print nanodiamond quantum‐sensor arrays onto soft, curved biological interfaces. The room‐temperature, water‐triggered process achieves >98% fidelity and residue‐free integration, enabling conformal quantum sensing on contact lenses, neural probes, and ...

Numerical Study of High-Buoyancy Pollutant Dispersion in a Two-Dimensional Street Canyon
Simulating the dispersion of high-buoyancy pollutant is challenging because of the change in fluid density. A species transport (ST) model, which accounts for variable fluid density, was first validated by simulating light and heavy gas dispersion around

Effectiveness of Buoyancy of Deformed Bubbles in Flotation
The relationship between the deformation of bubbles and effective stress through the solid phase in a froth layer of dissolved air flotation, and the transmission efficiency of the effective stress are experimentally and theoretically investigated by use of waste activated sludge. As conclusions: (1) The bubbles are deformed from sphere to ellipsoid of

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

The dependence of upper ocean gyres on wind and buoyancy forcing
A series of numerical simulations with different forcing conditions are carried out, to investigate the roles played by buoyancy and wind forcing on the upper ocean gyres, and to contrast the laminar and eddying regimes.

Turbulent transport in hydromagnetic flows
The predictive power of mean-field theory is emphasized by comparing theory with simulations under controlled conditions. The recently developed test-field method is used to extract turbulent transport coefficients both in kinematic as well as nonlinear ...

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

Quantum frictionless trajectories versus geodesics
Moving particles outside a star will generally experience quantum friction caused by the Unruh radiation reaction. There exist however radial trajectories that lack this effect (in the outgoing radiation sector, and ignoring backscattering).

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Positive segregation as a function of buoyancy force during steel ingot solidification
We analyze theoretically and experimentally solute redistribution in the dendritic solidification process and positive segregation during solidification of steel ingots. Positive segregation is mainly caused by liquid flow in the mushy zone.
