Abstract Oxidation of furfural (FF), a bio‐based platform chemical, was investigated using a range of iron‐, vanadium‐ and iron–zinc‐oxalates supported on silica gel (FeVOx@silica and FeZnOx@silica, respectively) as precursor for FeV@silica and FeZn@silica oxide catalysts and H2O2 as a green oxidant.

Cyanated carbon dots (CN‐CDs) are synthesized by the hydrothermal method with carboxymethyl cellulose and cyanobenzoic acid, and CD‐CTN is obtained in situ via cyclotrimerization of CN‐CDs. CD‐CTN possesses excellent photothermal catalytic H2O2 production in seawater, and desalted H2O2 could be obtained, which demonstrates the practical application for

Biomass‐Coupled HER System: A Strategy for Sustainable and Low‐Cost Hydrogen Production
Pine wood is carbonized into a hierarchically porous biochar anode that undergoes carbon oxidation reaction, replacing the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline water electrolysis. The resulting biomass‐coupled HER system converts water into hydrogen at low cell voltages, enabling low‐cost H2 production from renewable carbon resources. ABSTRACT Biomass‐

Butanol for sustainable aviation [PDF]
Butanol is a four-carbon alcohol suited for the production of road and jet fuel. The ATJ-SPK (alcohol-to-jet synthetic paraffinic kerosene) pathway aims to obtain paraffinic kerosene from C2-C4 alcohols.

One‐pot synthesis of asymmetric organic carbonates from CO2, methanol, and other alcohols was demonstrated in the presence of CeO2 catalyst and 2‐cyanopyridine dehydrant. This reaction proceeded through two reaction pathways—direct route via cross‐carboxylation and indirect route via production of DMC and subsequent transesterification.

Bioinspired Design and Synthesis of Polyphenolic Star‐Like and Hyperbranched Polyester Models
Gallotannin‐inspired star‐like and hyperbranched aromatic polyesters were synthesized from D‐glucose and ABn‐type phenolic acid monomers, such as protocatechuic acid. This bioinspired approach afforded polyphenolic polymeric nanoparticles able to encapsulate hydrophobic dyes, opening new perspectives for biobased encapsulation and delivery systems ...

Peptide Marriages: Modular Assembly of Multi‐Agonist Therapeutics
A modular polyethylene glycol (PEG) scaffold enables rapid assembly of dual peptide agonists using strain‐promoted azide–alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) and copper‐catalysed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1) and amylin agonists were combined with controlled valency, yielding low‐picomolar activity and receptor‐selective ...
