PRMT1‐Mediated LDHA Methylation Drives STAT3 Lactylation to Orchestrate Intestinal Inflammation and Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an immunometabolic axis wherein SAM‐driven PRMT1 methylates LDHA, enhancing its activity. The resultant lactate induces STAT3 K709 lactylation, which stabilizes an active conformation to promote STAT3 phosphorylation and IL‐10 expression.

Additional file 1 of Synergy at work: linking the metabolism of two lactic acid bacteria to achieve superior production of 2-butanol

open access: yes, 2020
Additional file 1: Figure S1. Overview of glucose and xylose metabolism in L. brevis. On glucose, two NADH are formed in the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway, and these have to be oxidized through ethanol formation from acetyl-CoA.

Frustrated Lewis Pairs and Metallic Ni Synergistically Enabled Low‐Temperature Hydrogenolysis of Lignin Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nickel–aluminum composite oxide (NiAlOx‐300) derived from NiAl layered double hydroxide showed high activity for hydrogenolysis of various lignin models. Especially, hydrogenolysis of benzyl phenyl ether could be efficiently proceeded at 20°C and 1 MPa H2.

Kinetic Study of Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol Fermentation in Continuous Culture

open access: yes, 2016
Acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation by clostridia has shown promise for industrial-scale production of biobutanol. However, the continuous ABE fermentation suffers from low product yield, titer, and productivity. Systems analysis of the continuous

Streptavidins Coordinate Biotin Sequestration and Self‐Resistance Within a Biotin‐Pathway Antibiotic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conserved genomic region between two streptavidin genes in Streptomyces packages biosynthetic gene clusters for diverse biotin‐pathway antibiotics: acidomycin, stravidin, the new non‐proteinogenic amino acid ANDA, and the new BioA inhibitor α‐methyl‐KAPA.

Model-Based Optimization of Cyclic Operation of Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) Fermentation Process with ex Situ Butanol Recovery (ESBR) for Continuous Biobutanol Production

open access: yes, 2017
This paper proposes a model-based optimization strategy for a fermentation process coupled with an ex situ butanol recovery-by-adsorption (termed “ESBR-by-adsorption” hereafter) process used for continuous biobutanol production.

SERS Facemask for Rapid and Portable Sensing Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Antigens for TB Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study introduced an Au─Ag embedded covalent organic framework (U@COF) ‐mediated facemask for sensing TB antigen ESAT‐6/CFP‐10 complex in clinical droplet samples toward TB screening. Practical analysis of clinical samples demonstrated the availability of our facemask, which is capable of identifying the TB subjects (N = 17) from healthy candidates (
