The Dual Role of Conjugated Linoleic Acid in Obesity and Metabolic Disorders

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) modulates lipid metabolism, adipogenesis, energy expenditure, and inflammation, showing anti‐obesity effects in animal models. However, human studies reveal inconsistent outcomes due to dosage, isomer type, and individual variability.

Development of Quantitative Competitive PCR and Absolute Based Real-Time PCR Assays for Quantification of The Butyrate Producing Bacterium: Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens

open access: yesپژوهشهای علوم دامی ایران, 2016
Introduction Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens strains are presently recognized as the major butyrate-producing bacteria found in the rumen and digestive track of many animals and also in the human gut.

Sampling methods for rumen microbial counts by Real-Time PCR techniques

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
Fresh rumen samples were withdrawn from 4 cannulated buffalo females fed a fibrous diets in order to quantify bacteria concentration in the rumen by Real-Time PCR techniques. To obtain DNA of a good quality from whole rumen fluid, eight (M1-M8) different

Defensin: The immune system regulatory factor against peripheral nerve disease

open access: yesBrain‐X, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2025.
Peripheral nerve disease is a common disorder that can lead to sensory, motor, and autonomic dysfunction, with common symptoms including pain, loss of sensation, lack of coordination, muscle weakness, and atrophy. Defensins (which can be divided into mammal, insect, and plant defensins), as regulatory factors of the immune system, can influence ...

Cloning, sequencing and analysis of expression of a Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens gene encoding a  -glucosidase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1990
The cloning, expression and nucleotide sequence of a 3.74 kb DNA segment on pLS215 containing a beta-glucosidase gene (bglA) from Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens H17c was investigated. The B. fibrisolvens bglA open reading frame (ORF) of 2490 bp encoded a beta-glucosidase of 830 amino acid residues with a calculated Mr of 91,800.

Soybean oil and probiotics improve meat quality, conjugated linoleic acid concentration, and nutritional quality indicators of goats

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 90, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract This study aimed to investigate the impact of dietary soybean oil and probiotics on goat meat quality, total conjugated linoleic acids (TCLA) concentration, and nutritional quality indicators of goats. Thirty‐six male crossbred goats (Anglo‐Nubian♂× Thai native♀), weighing 18.3 ± 2.7 kg, were selected and randomly assigned to six groups in a 2

The bacterial population adherent to plant particles in the rumen of reindeer fed lichen, timothy hay or silage

open access: yesRangifer, 1998
Male reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus) calves taken from a natural winter pasture were given ad lib. access to lichen (n = 3), timothy silage (n = 3) and hay (n = 3) for 7 weeks.

Effects of Hitoegusa (Monostroma nitidum) Extracts on In Vitro Rumen Fermentation Profiles

open access: yesAnimal Science Journal, Volume 96, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
ABSTRACT In vitro rumen fermentations were conducted using extracts of the seaweed Hitoegusa (Monostroma nitidum), which contains rhamnan sulfate, as a fermentation substrate. This study examines the metabolic utilization of Hitoegusa extract by rumen microbiota through in vitro fermentation assays.

Feed Efficiency and Growth Performance in Thai Beef Cattle Fed Cricket Meal as a Soybean Meal Replacement

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) is a high‐protein insect species with a favorable amino acid and fatty acid profile, widely recognized as an alternative to soybean meal in nonruminant diets. However, research on its use in ruminant nutrition remains limited, particularly regarding its effects on feed efficiency and performance.
