Abstract Background and Purpose Pharmacological activation of neuronal M‐current mediated by Kv7 (Kv7.2–5) potassium channels is a validated mechanism for epilepsy treatment. However, since the market withdrawal of the prototype Kv7 activator retigabine, no Kv7 activator is clinically available for this condition.

Modular Synthesis of Heterobenzylic Amines via Carbonyl Azinylative Amination
An indium metal‐mediated carbonyl azinylative amination (CAzA) reaction provides an operationally straightforward protocol for the multicomponent coupling carbonyls, amines and 2‐iodo azines to form α‐alkyl, α′‐2‐azinyl amines. This modular reaction displays a broad scope and only a metal reductant is needed to generate a reactive 2‐azinyl nucleophile.

Left: The disruption of the balance between carcinogenic bacteria and probiotics mediated by antibiotics, protein, and glucose intake. Middle: The gut microbiota‐derived amino acids, primarily through tryptophan, tyrosine, arginine, and branched‐chain amino acid pathways, regulate glioma development via mechanisms such as AHR activation, metabolic ...

Abstract Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an autoimmune blistering disorder predominantly affecting the elderly. Recently, many studies have shed light on the effect of specific drug intake and comorbidities on the development of BP. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of specific drug class intake and comorbidities with the ...

Development of the Japanese Anticholinergic Risk Scale: English translation of the Japanese article
Background Anticholinergic burden, reflecting the cumulative impact of medications with anticholinergic properties, significantly predicts adverse drug reactions and geriatric syndromes in older adults. Although anticholinergic risk scales (ARS) have been developed and validated in various countries, none have been tailored specifically for Japan.

Long-term treatment with haloperidol affects neuropeptide S and NPSR mRNA levels in the rat brain [PDF]
OBJECTIVE: The brainstem-derived neuropeptide S (NPS) has a multidirectional regulatory activity, especially as a potent anxiolytic factor. Accumulating data suggests that neuroleptics affect peptidergic signalling in various brain structures.

Amine dehydrogenases (AmDHs) are NAD(P)H‐depended oxidoreductases that rely on NAD(P)H as cofactor to catalyze the reductive amination of carbonyl‐containing compounds in the presence of ammonia. Depending on the catalytic activities of other enzymes as reaction partners, AmDHs find applications in various synthetic pathways, as well as in kinetic ...
