Palladium-Catalysed Intramolecular C–N versus C–C Coupling: The Effect of 1,8-peri-Interaction in the Naphthalene System

open access: yesSynOpen, 2019
Palladium-catalysed competitive intramolecular C–N and C–C coupling of 2-amino-2′-bromodiarylsulfones has been carried out based on 1,8-peri-interactions for the synthesis of phenothiazinedioxide and benzonaphthathiophenedioxide derivatives.

Rotational spectra and nitrogen nuclear quadrupole coupling for the cyanoacetylene dimer: H C C C N⋯H C C C N [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2016
Abstract The rotational spectra of cyanoacetylene dimer, H C C C N⋯H C C C N, were recorded using Balle–Flygare type Fourier transform microwave (FTMW) spectrometers. The low J transitions were measured down to 1.3 GHz at very high resolution, FWHM ∼ 1 kHz.

Photocatalytic deaminative benzylation and alkylation of tetrahydroisoquinolines with N-alkylpyrydinium salts

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020
A ruthenium-catalyzed photoredox coupling of substituted N-aryltetrahydroisoquinolines (THIQs) and different bench-stable pyridinium salts was successfully developed to give fast access to 1-benzyl-THIQs.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

C-C Coupling Reactions between Benzofurazan Derivatives and 1,3-Diaminobenzenes

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
Aromatic substitution reactions between 1,3-diaminobenzene and chloronitrobenzofurazan derivatives have never been reported so far. The aim of the current study was to synthesize novel electron-donor and -acceptor architectures of interest in applied ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Exploration of C–H and N–H-bond functionalization towards 1-(1,2-diarylindol-3-yl)tetrahydroisoquinolines

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
The synthesis of 1,2,3-trisubstituted indoles was investigated. More specifically, straightforward synthetic routes towards 1-(1,2-diarylindol-3-yl)-N-PG-THIQs (PG = protecting group, THIQ = tetrahydroisoquinoline) employing transition metal-catalyzed C ...

Computational exploration of the reaction mechanism of the Cu+-catalysed synthesis of indoles from N-aryl enaminones [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2016
We have studied the role of Cu+-phenantroline as a catalyst in the cyclization of N-aryl-enaminones using density-functional theory computations. The catalyst was found to bind the substrate upon deprotonation of its eneaminone, and to dramatically ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Electrocatalytic C–N Coupling for Urea Synthesis

open access: yesSmall Science, 2021
The industrial urea synthesis consists of two consecutive processes, nitrogen + hydrogen → ammonia followed by ammonia + carbon dioxide → urea. The electrocatalytic coupling of carbon source (carbon dioxide) and nitrogen source (nitrogen, nitrite ...
