Functionalization of carbon nanotubes with -CHn, -NHn fragments, -COOH and -OH groups
We present results of extensive theoretical studies concerning stability, morphology, and band structure of single wall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) covalently functionalized by -CHn(for n=2,3,4),-NHn(for n=1,2,3,4),-COOH and -OH groups. Our studies are based

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Site‐Selective C─H Bond Functionalization of Sugars
AbstractNon‐typical C‐functionalized sugars represent a prominent yet hardly accessible class of biologically‐active compounds. The available synthetic methodologies toward such sugar derivatives suffer either from an extensive use of protecting groups, requiring long and laborious synthetic manipulations, or from limited predictability and ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Geminal group-directed olefinic C-H functionalization via four- to eight-membered exo-metallocycles
Identifying distinct cyclometallation pathways is essential to new types of C-H activation and functionalization in organic synthesis. Here, the authors show the activation of an olefinic C-H bond geminal to the directing group via four- to eight ...

Methodology of the direct C–H bond functionalization in nitrogen-containing heterocycles [PDF]

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Recent advances in C(sp3)–H bond functionalization via metal–carbene insertions
The recent development of intermolecular C–H insertion in the application of C(sp3)–H bond functionalizations, especially for light alkanes, is reviewed.
