Myeloid C-type lectin receptors in innate immune recognition

open access: yesImmunity
C-type lectin receptors (CLRs) expressed by myeloid cells constitute a versatile family of receptors that play a key role in innate immune recognition. Myeloid CLRs exhibit a remarkable ability to recognize an extensive array of ligands, from carbohydrates and beyond, and encompass pattern-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), damage-associated ...

Genome Sequencing in 19 Families With Bladder Exstrophy and Epispadias Complex Indicates Involvement of the ADGR‐Gene Family

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bladder exstrophy and epispadias complex (BEEC) is one of the most severe congenital malformations of the urogenital tract, significantly impacting continence, sexual function, and renal function. To date, the only recurrent genetic aberration identified is the 22q.11.2 microduplication, but several candidate regions and genes including ...

Quantification of C-type lectin receptors signal transduction

open access: yes, 2021
Ubiquitous glycans facilitate a plethora of important interactions namely cancer-host, host-pathogen, host-self interactions. Interaction with theses carbohydrates is enabled by lectins and the effects of these interactions can range from redundant to essential.

CSF‐Compartmentalized Antibody Glycoprofiles in NMDAR Encephalitis Associate with Etiology and Functional Recovery

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective To characterize Fc‐glycosylation profiles in patients with anti‐N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate receptor encephalitis (NMDARe) and assess their association with antibody compartmentalization (cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] vs serum), disease triggers (viral, tumor‐related or idiopathic), and 1‐year outcomes.

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Regulation of IL-10 production in dendritic cells is controlled by the co-activation of TLR2 and Mincle by Lactiplantibacillus plantarum OLL2712

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
We showed that Lactiplantibacillus plantarum OLL2712 (OLL2712) strongly induces interleukin (IL)-10 production in immune cells. Although beneficial effects of this strain have been observed in both mice and humans, the mechanisms underlying IL-10 ...

Multi‐omic profiling reveals immune cell priming signature linked to lupus prognosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multi‐organ disease with widespread immune dysregulation and significant unmet clinical need. Blood‐based gene expression studies have advanced our understanding of SLE pathogenesis but may overlook critical tissue‐specific mechanisms that drive disease heterogeneity and progression.

Elevation of plasma podoplanin in Kawasaki disease

open access: yesJournal of Laboratory Medicine
Kawasaki disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis that results in abnormalities in the coronary arteries. Podoplanin (PDPN) and its receptor C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) are involved in inflammatory hemostasis and have also been proved to be ...
