ABSTRACT Hereditary angioedema (HAE) with C1 inhibitor deficiency is a rare disease characterized by unpredictable episodes of tissue swelling (angioedema), which, in most cases, occur first under the age of 18 years, and entail a significant burden of disease not only for the patients but also for their families.

ABSTRACT Immunoglobulin E (IgE) plays a central role in allergic diseases by binding to the high‐affinity receptor FcεRI on mast cells and basophils, where allergen‐induced crosslinking triggers potent inflammatory responses. Various mechanisms by which IgE responses are generated and functionally regulated remain elusive despite many years of research.

IL‐33 Drives Inflammatory Changes and Extracellular Trap Formation in Eosinophils Involving Oxidised LDL and Complement Pathways

IL‐33 induces inflammatory gene signatures in eosinophils, characterised by the upregulation of cell surface markers, inflammatory mediators and regulatory factors, all of which were also observed in nasal polyp‐derived eosinophils. Ox‐LDL and complement fragments (C3a and C5a) promote eosinophil adhesion and survival.

Cancer‐specific antihuman podoplanin antibody chLpMab‐2f exerted antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against pleural mesothelioma (PM) cell lines. Additionally, chLpMab‐2f inhibited tumor progression in mice with subcutaneously and intrathoracically transplanted human PM cells.
