The Role of Testosterone and Gibberellic Acid in the Melanization of Cryptococcus neoformans
Cryptococcus neoformans, a spore-producing pathogenic yeast, affects immunocompromised individuals causing meningoencephalitis. Once C. neoformans is introduced via the respiratory tract, it is engulfed by macrophages and other phagocytes.

ABSTRACT Mitochondria serve as cellular powerhouses that generate ATP via electron transport chain complexes and orchestrate metabolism‐apoptosis cross‐talk, yet genes maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis remain underexplored as antifungal targets. In this study, a previously uncharacterised protein VdAtuA3 was identified as a novel interactor with ...

Role of IL-17A on Resolution of Pulmonary C. neoformans Infection
The current studies evaluated the role of interleukin (IL)-17A in the induction of protective immunity against pulmonary cryptococcosis in mice. Protection against pulmonary infection with C. neoformans strain H99γ was associated with increased IL-17A production.

Abstract A 1‐year‐old, female, spayed, mixed‐breed dog was examined by a referring veterinarian for a 1‐week history of sneezing, bilateral mucoid nasal discharge, mild bilateral ocular discharge and stertor. During rhinoscopy, a plant awn foreign body was removed, but upper respiratory signs persisted. Computed tomography of the head revealed findings

Solid‐state NMR combined with principal component analysis enables quantitative classification of fungal α‐ and β‐glucan architectures in intact cell walls, revealing conserved triple‐helical β‐1,3‐glucan conformations across species and predominantly bundled‐sheet α‐1,3‐glucan assemblies with condition‐dependent polymorphism. Statistical clustering of
