Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Gas chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis of epoxidised canola oil

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2006
Peroxyformic acid prepared in-situ was employed for epoxidation of canola oil in the presence of toluene. Gas chromatographic analysis of the product revealed the following species: C16:0; C18:0; C18:1; C18:2; C18:3; monoepoxy C18:0; monoepoxy C18:1 ...

Hierarchically Engineered Multi‐Enzyme Nanoreactors for in vitro Drug Biosynthesis and Pathway Transplantation Into Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchically structured metal–organic framework (eMIL) is shown to host the complete six‐enzyme biosynthesis pathway for the anti‐cancer pigment violacein, reshaping reaction dynamics and multiplying in vitro yields. eMIL nanoreactors deliver this reconstituted bacterial multi‐protein system into mammalian cells, where cell‐derived substrates and ...

Droplet Electricity Generators With Maximized Energy Collection Zone Enabled by Aloe‐Inspired Midrib and Cuticle

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An Aloe‐pinspired droplet electricity generator (A‐DEG) overcomes the limited energy collection zone of conventional DEGs by guiding impact droplets through a channeling midrib and artificial cuticle. The channeling midrib induces uni‐directional droplet spreading, while the artificial cuticle on the midrib further reinforces this behavior through its ...

Multiomics reveals the molecular mechanism of unsaturated fatty acid-induced terpenoid biosynthesis in Sanghuangporus lonicericola

open access: yesnpj Science of Food
Treatment with C18:1 and C18:2, but not C18:0, increased the triterpenoid content of the medicinal fungus Sanghuangporus lonicericola. We identified 413 terpenoids, including 210 volatile terpenoids.

Hydrogenering av fettsyrer i vomma - effekt av botanisk sammenstening av surfôret [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011

Enhanced Infection Resistance and Regenerative Healing of Titanium Implants via Peptide‐Loaded Biodegradable Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Polymers of triglycerides generated during heating of fat do not protect linoleic acid from ruminal biohydrogenation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Heating fats often induces a decrease of cis-9, cis-12 C18:2 and cis-9, cis-12, cis-15 C18:3 biohydrogenation (BH) in vivo (Gonthier et al. 2005), in situ (Troegeler-Meynadier et al. 2006) and in vitro (Privé et al. 2010). This is of interest because it
