ABSTRACT We studied near‐instantaneous temperature responses of light‐saturated photosynthesis (Asat) and the operating efficiency of photosystem II (ΦPSII) in relation to acclimation of photosynthetic biochemistry to temperature at the timescale of 1–8 days. We grew two closely related Brassica oleracea L.

Improving photosynthetic efficiency in fluctuating light to enhance yield of C3 and C4 crops
Photosynthetic adaptations to light fluctuations do not occur instantaneously, leading to reduced carbon gain and lower productivity in agricultural crops.

ABSTRACT Improving photosynthesis is proposed as a means of enhancing crop productivity. To assess whether simultaneous increases in light use‐efficiency and carbon assimilation are additive, we investigated the impact of elevated CO2 on the performance of a transgenic soybean line engineered for faster relaxation of photoprotection by overexpression ...

ABSTRACT Rubisco activase mediates the activation of Rubisco, the key photosynthetic CO2‐fixing enzyme, and plays a crucial role in regulating photosynthesis and plant growth. Rubisco activase restores catalytic competence to Rubisco active sites by promoting the release of inhibitors in an ATP‐dependent manner.

Exogenous IAA supply enhances the strategy I response in common bean under iron deficiency. Abstract Iron deficiency is a common nutritional disorder observed in calcareous soils, where its resolution by classical methods has shown its failure. However, the exploitation of certain potentialities possessed by crops (rhizosphere acidification, H‐ATPase ...

Abstract Introduction Channel incision can disconnect streams from their floodplains, potentially depleting carbon (C) in riparian soils by stimulating microbial decomposition. Stream restoration may offer an opportunity to replenish soil C pools by saturating riparian soils with water and slowing microbial activity.

Photosynthesis is a promising method for H2O2 production, but its application in pure water is limited by slow oxidation kinetics and rapid photocarrier recombination of photocatalysts.

Abstract Biological processes involve complex hierarchies where composite traits result from multiple component traits. However, holistically understanding of how sets of component traits interact to underpin genotype‐to‐phenotype relationships is generally lacking.

End‐of‐season corn stalk analysis as a tool to fine‐tune potassium and nitrogen management
Abstract Corn (Zea mays L.) requires proper nutrient management for optimal growth, and tissue testing plays an important role in refining recommendations. Corn stalk nitrate test (CSNT) is used to evaluate nitrogen (N) management; however, a comparable plant‐based diagnostic tool for potassium (K) is lacking. This study evaluated extractants for stalk‐

The genomic and chromosomal organization of C. nutans was investigated using GISH and ND‐FISH with four oligonucleotide probes. The results showed that repetitive sequence distribution exhibited genome‐specific patterns: the H genome demonstrated high structural stability with low polymorphism, while the St genome showed moderate variation, and the Y ...
