The Complement C3a And C3a Receptor Pathway Indiabetic Patients With Entamobra Histolytica, Cryptospridium Parvum

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Sciences
Cryptosporidium parvum and Entamoeba histolytica are significant protozoan parasites that adversely impact human health. The infection rate of these parasites among diabetic patients was recorded at 18.33%. However, the mechanisms underlying host-parasite interactions remain poorly understood.

Stable 1,3,2‐Benzodithiazolyl Radicals: Modification of Reactivity, Crystal Packing, and Solid State Magnetic Properties by Fluorination

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
Fluorination reduces solid‐state thermal stability of 1,3,2‐benzodithiazolyl radicals and modulates crystal structures (e.g., by means of a new supramolecular zip‐synthon) and reactivity, in the latter case toward transformations unknown in the hydrocarbon series but potentially general in the fluorocarbon one.

Clinical Versus Pathologic Staging in Early‐Stage Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Assessed by an Established Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Meeting

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 6, March 2026.
Clinical and pathological staging concordance in early‐stage NSCLC occurred in 73% of cases. Clinical under‐staging occurred in 18.9% of cases. Under‐staging was associated with treatment delays and tumor histopathology and increased the risk of disease recurrence and mortality.

Toward a circular economy in Italian agri-food: upstream partners in insect biorefineries

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Economics
The insect biorefinery (IB) is central to recycling nutrients from food losses and waste (FLW) in an emerging circular bioeconomy approach. The sustainable leadership of the European insect industry and its integration into the bioeconomy depend on ...

Go Green or Go Digital? A Set‐Theoretic Perspective of Incumbents' Paths to Success

open access: yesCreativity and Innovation Management, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 125-142, March 2026.
ABSTRACT In response to growing pressures for environmental sustainability and technological advancement, this study examines how firms can effectively integrate green and digital innovations within ambidextrous strategies to enhance performance. Using fuzzy‐set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) on a sample of 175 German manufacturing and ...

The fc fragment of IgMs binds C1q to activate the first step of the classical complement pathway, while inhibiting complement‐dependent cytotoxicity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 5, Page 1358-1375, March 2026.
Multimeric IgM‐fragment crystallizable region (Fc) fragments retain the ability to bind C1q and initiate the classical complement pathway, leading to C4 activation and deposition in vitro. However, the Fc cores can also inhibit complement‐dependent cytotoxicity by competing with surface‐bound antibodies for C1q engagement.

Reactivity Evolution of Mechanochemically Activated Laterite Used as a Supplementary Cementitious Material

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The use of laterite soil with high Al and Fe content has been investigated as a novel supplementary cementitious material (SCM) to replace traditional mineral materials for clinker substitution. High‐energy ball milling was used to mechanochemically activate laterite and change its reactivity.

Reaction Kinetics, Modeling, and Analysis of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Hydration in Model Systems

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Hydration temperature and particle size strongly influence the reaction kinetics of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). This study focuses on quantifying and modeling these effects on ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) hydration in the R3 model system.
