Nationwide Study on the Cervical Cancer Screening Pathway in Estonia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Cervical cancer remains a significant burden despite being preventable, largely due to inadequate screening participation and poor follow‐up of high‐risk women. Here, the authors investigated follow‐up rates among women who tested positive for high‐risk human papillomavirus (hr‐HPV) infection in primary screening in Estonia. Data show that more than 57

Panel Investigation of the Factors Determining the Supply of Bank Loans in Bulgaria Using Microeconomic Data

open access: yesECONOMICS
This paper studies the factors affecting Bulgarian commercial banks’ loan supply over the period between Q1 2007 and Q4 2024. The analysis employs a panel of indicators derived from individual (microeconomic) commercial banks’ balance sheets and income ...

Drought‐Induced Abscisic Acid Accumulation in Soybean Roots Depends on NCED Gene Expression More Than Shoot‐to‐Root ABA Transport

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
Abstract Abscisic acid (ABA) is a key phytohormone in plant responses to water deficit. Although there is extensive evidence that roots can synthesise ABA, recent findings suggest that local synthesis in response to dehydration contributes little to the root ABA pool compared to shoot‐sourced ABA.

Real‐time fault detection in multicomponent nuclear‐waste slurries through data fusion of spectroscopic sensors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Three instruments–Raman spectroscopy, attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and focused beam reflectance measurement–were used to detect sensor faults, mixing faults, and unanticipated chemistry in a system of multicomponent slurries.

Isolation and characterization of a cold-active amylase from marine Wangia sp. C52

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Microbiology Research, 2011
Amylase activity was detected in the culture medium of marine Wangia sp. C52, which was isolated from the Southern Okinawa Trough deep-sea sediment. In the present study, a cold-active amylase was purified to homogeneity from the culture broth by ammonium sulfate precipitation and gel filtration chromatography.

Synthesis of a Truncated Analog of Amphidinol 3 Corresponding to the C21–C39/C52–C67 Section [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry Letters, 2017
As a part of structure–activity relationship studies to elucidate structure requirements for eliciting antifungal activity, an artificial analog of amphidinol 3 (AM3) was designed. A truncated analog corresponding to the C21–C39/C52–C67 section was synthesized by using Suzuki–Miyaura coupling and Julia–Kocienski olefination as key steps. An expeditious

Load‐Bearing Characteristics of SLA‐Fabricated Octahedral Porous Structures

open access: yesStrain, Volume 62, Issue 2, April 2026.
A combined experimental–numerical framework was developed to evaluate SLA–fabricated octahedral and pillar–reinforced lattice structures under compression, shear, and torsion. Small increases in infill density produced nonlinear gains in stiffness and strength, reaching a 255% rise in elastic modulus at low porosity. Pillar reinforcement enhanced shear

Cluster analysis and artificial neural networks in predicting energy efficiency of public buildings as a cost-saving approach

open access: yesCroatian Review of Economic, Business and Social Statistics, 2018
Although energy efficiency is a hot topic in the context of global climate change, in the European Union directives and in national energy policies, methodology for estimating energy efficiency still relies on standard techniques defined by experts in ...

ANOVA bootstrapped principal components analysis for logistic regression

open access: yesCroatian Review of Economic, Business and Social Statistics, 2022
Principal components analysis (PCA) is often used as a dimensionality reduction technique. A small number of principal components is selected to be used in a classification or a regression model to boost accuracy.

Discovery of Thanafactin A, a Linear, Proline-Containing Octalipopeptide from Pseudomonas sp. SH-C52, Motivated by Genome Mining

open access: yesJournal of Natural Products, 2020
Genome mining of the bacterial strains Pseudomonas sp. SH-C52 and Pseudomonas fluorescens DSM 11579 showed that both strains contained a highly similar gene cluster encoding an octamodular nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) system which was not associated with a known secondary metabolite.
