Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Multi-Spheres Adsorptive Microextraction (MSAμE)—Application of a Novel Analytical Approach for Monitoring Chemical Anthropogenic Markers in Environmental Water Matrices

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Multi-spheres adsorptive microextraction using powdered activated carbons (ACs) was studied as a novel enrichment approach, followed by liquid desorption and high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (MSAµE(AC)-LD/HPLC-DAD ...

High Stability of Diketopyrrolopyrrole Polymer Transistors Under Aqueous Condition Toward Biosensing Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We are reporting the first‐time investigation of DPP‐based Organic Field‐Effect Transistor (OFET) devices with high‐stability of signal response in both of ambient and aqueous conditions with PBS solution. ABSTRACT Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)–based conjugated polymers show strong promise for electronic applications, including bioelectronic gas sensors ...

Baryon asymmetry from higher-order matter contributions in gravity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We investigate the observed asymmetry between matter and antimatter by incorporating higher-order matter contributions in gravity, specifically analyzing gravitational baryogenesis within the framework of f(R,T2) gravity, where R is the Ricci scalar and ...

Drought Trends in the Iberian Peninsula over the Last 112 Years

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2017
The Iberian Peninsula (IP) is a drought-prone area located in the Mediterranean which presents a significant tendency towards dryness during the last decades, reinforcing the need for a continuous monitoring of drought. The long-term evolution of drought

Changes in subcellular distribution of n-octanoyl or n-decanoyl ghrelin in ghrelin-producing cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2013
Background: The enzyme ghrelin O-acyltransferase (GOAT) catalyzes the acylation of ghrelin. The molecular form of GOAT, together with its reaction in vitro, has been reported previously.

An Analytical Model for Almost Conformal Spherical Contact Problems: Application to Total Hip Arthroplasty with UHMWPE Liner

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Due to its high relevance for designing ball joints in mechanical engineering and (artificial) hip joints in biomechanics, the almost conformal elastic contact between a sphere and a spherical cup represents an important contact problem of current ...

A Novel Function of Nonadecanoic Acid in Regulating Glucose Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the odd‐chain fatty acid C19:0 as an endogenous ligand of GPR120 that promotes glucose homeostasis via Gαq signaling. In obesity, elevated palmitic acid suppresses endogenous C19:0 production through a miRNA–PPARα–HACL1 pathway, offering a promising direction for understanding the role of OCFAs in human health.
