Effect of Alkyl Chain Length on the Bandgap, Ferroelectric, and Photoelectric Properties of Lead‐Based Molecular Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel 2D molecular ferroelectric [C6N2H18]PbI4 with polarization enhanced photovoltaics. It systematically investigates the effect of alkylamine spacer cation chain lengths on the band gap, ferroelectric, and photoelectric properties, offering new design strategies.

Preliminary Examination of the Effects of Focused Ultrasound on Living Skin and Temperature at the Skin–Transducer Interface

open access: yesBioengineering
Transcranial Focused Ultrasound Stimulation (tFUS) is a new, rapidly growing field related to the study and treatment of brain circuits. Establishing safety cutoffs for focused ultrasound is crucial for non-ablative neurological ultrasound experiments ...

Comparison of the properties of polyimide nanocomposite films containing functionalized-graphene and organoclay as nanofillers

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Poly(amic acid) (PAA) is prepared by the reaction of dianhydride 4,4′-biphthalic anhydride and diamine bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl]sulfone in N,N’-dimethylacetamide.

Predicting stable binding modes from simulated dimers of the D76N mutant of β2-microglobulin

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2021
The D76N mutant of the β2m protein is a biologically motivated model system to study protein aggregation. There is strong experimental evidence, supported by molecular simulations, that D76N populates a highly dynamic conformation (which we originally ...

Protective coating for gabion wires against weathering elements and site conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Gabions are one of the most essential elements in the geotechnical field for their versatility and strength in slope stabilization. According to BS 8002:2015, gabions are rectangular large cages or baskets made of either steel wire or square welded mesh,

Comparative Oligo‐FISH Mapping Illuminates Chromosomal Evolution Among Rutaceae Species Diverged Over 50 Million Years

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oligonucleotide‐based fluorescence in situ hybridization probes were developed in the model citrus species Citrus maxima. These probes were applied to comparative karyotyping across 14 species in the Rutaceae family. This analysis revealed chromosomal evolution in lineages that diverged from Citrus nearly 52 million years ago.

EXAFS studies on the reduction of palladium(II) in X zeolites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Palladium tetraammine ion exchange into zeolite, temperature treatments under different atmospheres, and hydrogen reduction have been studied by EXAFS at the Pd Κ edge. Complete autoreduction is found to take place between 473 and 623 Κ under vacuum.

Design of Optical Transducer for Recognition of Biomolecular Interactions between Bacterial Lipopolysaccharides and Amino Acids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A deep comprehension of biomolecular phenomena at interfaces is significant with their fundamental and practical importance. Our experimental and theoretical investigations reveal that specific amino acids (glutamic acid and aspartic acid) exhibit an orientational coupling with liquid crystals, which can recognize and optically report the interfacial ...

Gravitational baryogenesis in f(T, Lm) gravity

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
The observed matter–antimatter asymmetry of the Universe remains a fundamental challenge in modern physics. In this work, we explore gravitational baryogenesis within the framework of f(T, Lm) gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian depends on both ...
