[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...

Anti‐CD19 CAR T Cells in Autoimmune Encephalitis: Inflammation Controlled, Neurodegeneration Unchecked?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Just recently, successful chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was reported in the first patient with refractory, anti‐diacylglycerol lipase alpha (DAGLA) antibody‐mediated autoimmune encephalitis, achieving partial clinical remission.

Elevated serum CA 19-9 levels in patients with pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacterial disease

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2016
Increased serum CA 19-9 levels in patients with nonmalignant diseases have been investigated in previous reports. This study evaluates the clinical significance of serum CA 19-9 elevation in pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacterial disease and pulmonary ...

From Adult to Adolescent: Alignment in Clinical Trials and Outcomes in Axial Spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a group of chronic inflammatory diseases encompassing axial and peripheral forms, with up to 20% of patients developing symptoms before age 16. Despite this substantial pediatric burden, treatment options for juvenile‐onset SpA (JSpA), particularly those with axial disease (axJSpA), remain limited.

Value of Serum Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9 and Carcinoembryonic Antigen in Evaluating Severity and Prognosis of Connective Tissue Disease-Associated Interstitial Lung Disease

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2018
Objectives: This study aims to detect serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) levels in connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD) patients and to demonstrate their values in evaluating ...

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Isolated CA 19-9 Elevation as Preceding Finding of Colorectal Carcinoma

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2016
Rectal bleeding, change in bowel habits, abdominal pain are cardinal symptoms of colorectal carcinoma. Otherwise, weight loss, fatigue and weakness do not suggest colorectal carcinoma.

Prognostic Value of Carcinoembryonic Antigen, CA 19-9 and CA 72-4 in Gastric Carcinoma

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2001
The prognostic value of preoperative serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CA 19-9 and CA 72-4 tumor markers was investigated in patients with gastric cancer. Eighty-two patients who underwent surgical resection of gastric cancer were entered in the study.

Tuning Mechanoreceptor Signaling Enhances the Adjuvant Effect of Biomaterial Vaccines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Matrix stiffness serves as an independent immunological signal in biomaterial vaccines. Stiffer microporous hydrogel vaccines enhance dendritic cell maturation and migration to draining lymph nodes, promote T follicular helper cell expansion through Yap/Taz signaling, and increase antigen‐specific antibody production.
