Design of a cable-driven ankle rehabilitation system (C-DARS)

open access: yes2014 11th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient Intelligence (URAI), 2014
This paper presents a cable-driven ankle rehabilitation system (C-DARS). The proposed system is designed to easily apply the ankle rehabilitation treatment for multi-users. A small and light connecting part is attached to an orthosis worn by a patient, and the required force for the rehabilitation treatment is transmitted by a cable-driven mechanism ...

Study of effect of cable yielding in cable-driven robotic system

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2004. Proceedings. ICRA '04. 2004, 2004
This paper presents a method for characterizing the performance limitations imposed by the yielding of the cables in a planar robotic mechanism with a cable-driven transmission. The method involves developing a model for the cable tensions based on a rigid-body model of the system, where the tensions are considered as reaction forces.

A cable-driven locomotor training system for restoration of gait in human SCI

Gait & Posture, 2011
A novel cable-driven robotic locomotor training system was developed to provide compliant assistance/resistance forces to the legs during treadmill training in patients with incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI). Eleven subjects with incomplete SCI were recruited to participate in two experiments to test the feasibility of the robotic gait training ...

A feedforward compensation approach for cable-driven musculoskeletal systems

Robotica, 2022
AbstractThis paper presents a feedforward compensation approach for musculoskeletal systems (MSs). Compared with traditional rigid robots, human arms have the advantages of flexibility and safety in operation in unstructured environments. However, the influence of external unknown disturbances, inner friction effects, and dynamic uncertainties of the ...

Control and Monitoring of a Double Cable Driven System

2021 6th International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Signal Processing (ICSP), 2021
Aiming at the structural characteristics and working methods of the cable-driven robot, an experimental platform oriented to the driving force control of cable was built. The platform has a double cable driven system, that is, one cable is driven by two motors and performs reciprocating motion.
