Acta Horticulturae, 1997Economic research into intensive cactus pear production in Italy shows the existence of several aspects and problems of considerable interest. Firstly, it emerges that over 90% of Italian cactus pear cultivation, in terms of surface area and production, is concentrated in Sicily.
