Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma
Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma with therapeutic strategies Abstract Background and Aims Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly heterogeneous cancer with limited understanding and few effective therapeutic approaches. We aimed at providing a proteogenomic CCA characterization to inform biological processes and treatment ...

Sleep disturbance severity closely tracks hearing loss in a clinical cohort, yet the mechanistic link remains unclear. Acute sleep deprivation is shown to trigger transient cochlear oxidative stress that switches into a self‐sustaining neuroinflammatory state, suppressing BK channels and causing irreversible synaptopathy.

A perspective on the genesis, diagnostics, and management of sickle cell disease
Background Hemoglobinopathies, including sickle cell disease (SCD), have been recognized as a major health problem globally. SCD is caused by a mutation in the GAG codon that converts glutamate to valine, resulting in sickle hemoglobin (HbS) and various ...

Aberrant splicing at the CAG repeat tract.
A. Amplification of GFP transcripts from induced GFP(CAG)89 cells by RT-PCR. B. Splice junctions in normal and aberrantly spliced GFP mRNA. The lower band in A corresponds to correctly spliced GFP mRNA, with sequences around the splice sites indicated ...

TH/TRs–COL11A2 Axis Mediates Loss of a Differentiated Astrocyte State in Hypogyrified Brains
Using a gyrencephalic congenital hypothyroidism pig model, this study reveals cerebral atrophy and cortical hypogyrification. Single‐cell sequencing identifies astrocytes as major TH‐responsive cells, with the COL11A2‐enriched Astro‐2 state nearly absent.

CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.
