Bradyrhizobium ivorense sp. nov. as a potential local bioinoculant for Cajanus cajan cultures in Côte d’Ivoire

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2020
For many smallholder farmers of Sub-Saharan Africa, pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is an important crop to make ends meet. To ascertain the taxonomic status of pigeonpea isolates of Côte d’Ivoire previously identified as bradyrhizobia, a polyphasic approach ...

Enhancing Neglected and Underutilized Crop Species (NUCS) in Nepal: Unlocking Their Potential for Climate Resilience, Food Security, and Agrobiodiversity

open access: yesAdvances in Agriculture, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background The global dominance of a few major cereal crops has led to the marginalization of traditional species, reducing agrobiodiversity and increasing the vulnerability of food systems. Changing climate conditions, particularly intensifying drought stress, further threaten global food security.

Two New Stilbenoids from Cajanus cajan

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 2012
Two new stilbenoids cajanotone and cajanamide A (1-2), together with another six known ones (3- 8) and four known dihydroflavones (9-12), have been isolated from the leaves of Cajanus cajan. Their structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic studies. A possible pathway to the new compounds 1 and 2 has been proposed.

The Role of Participatory Forest Management on Forest Composition, Diversity, and Regeneration: A Study of Guangua Elala Forest, Northwestern Ethiopia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Forestry Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Participatory forest management (PFM) is increasingly recognized as an effective approach for forest conservation and sustainable resource use in Ethiopia, yet empirical evidence of its ecological outcomes remains limited. This study assessed the effects of PFM on forest composition, diversity, and regeneration in the Guangua Elala Forest, Northwestern

Decoding nature's defense dance: Mechanistic insights into biochemical and metabolic shifts in Cajanus cajan and Cajanus platycarpus during combat with the lepidopteran pest Helicoverpa armigera provide evidence for non-host plant immunity

open access: yesPlant Stress
This study provides intriguing mechanistic insights into the innate immunity of the pigeonpea wild relative, Cajanus platycarpus, in comparison to the cultivated Cajanus cajan, based on biochemical and metabolic changes during Helicoverpa armigera ...
