Efficacy and safety of glucagon‐like peptide 1 receptor agonists across all health outcomes in type 2 diabetes: An umbrella review and evidence map of randomised controlled trials

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 1136-1149, February 2026.
Abstract Aim Glucagon‐like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RAs) have been established as effective treatments for type 2 diabetes, offering benefits beyond glycaemic control; however, their associations across multiple health outcomes remain insufficiently assessed.

Systemic Arterial Stiffness in Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome: A Prospective Case–Control Study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 2, February 2026.
No significant differences were observed at any stage of the RCVS course between patients and controls. Systemic arterial stiffness, as assessed by PWV, remained normal and stable throughout the course of RCVS. No systemic complication has been detected during the RCVS course.

Reduced Frequency of Prolonged Sporadic Hemiplegic Migraine Attacks Following Fremanezumab Treatment—A Case Report

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 2, February 2026.
A 64‐year‐old man was admitted to the stroke unit with acute aphasia and right‐sided hemiplegia, but imaging showed no signs of acute stroke. Symptoms gradually improved and fully resolved by Day 21, following the onset of a hemicranial headache. A diagnosis of sporadic hemiplegic migraine was made, and no further attacks occurred under fremanezumab ...

Astrocyte Regulation of Spinal Circuit Function

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 2, February 2026.
Spinal cord astrocytes exist as an additional component of the computational framework that governs both sensory perceptions and motor outputs (left). By integrating local synaptic activity together with signals that reflect whole‐body state (e.g., neuromodulators, immune signals, and vascular signals) into defined input states (Sn), astrocytes adapt ...

Biochemical and Physiological Effects of Galanin in Health and Disease

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 2, 31 January 2026.
Galanin is a biologically active neuropeptide hormone that mediates its effects through three galanin receptors. Galanin signaling induces changes in glucose homeostasis amongst others and plays a dynamic role in the physiological health of many organ systems.
