Inhibitory effect of LY 255283 on the synthesis of leukotriene B4 and thromboxane A2 in human peripheral blood polymorphonuclear leukocytes and monocytes

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1993
LY 255283 [(1-(5-ethyl-2-hydroxy-4-(6-methyl-6-)1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-heptyloxy) phenyl)ethanone], a specific leukotriene B4 (LTB4) receptor antagonist, inhibited the production of LTB4 in human peripheral blood polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNL) and in ...

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection with assisted oocyte activation resulting in successful pregnancies and live birth in couples with globozoospermia: A report of two cases

open access: yesJournal of Human Reproductive Sciences, 2018
Globozoospermia, characterized by round-headed acrosomeless sperm, is a rare and severe form of teratozoospermia. We report a successful pregnancy in two cases of total globozoospermia after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with oocyte activation ...

Rapid progesterone actions on thymulin-secreting epithelial cells cultured from rat thymus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Many soluble factors of neural, endocrine, paracrine and autocrine origin are present in the thymus and modulate its function. Long-term effects of sex steroids have! been documented for thymocytes and cells of the thymic microenvironment. In this report

708 BILE SALTS FUNCTION AS CALCIUM IONOPHORES [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Research, 1985
It has been previously demonstrated that bile salts (BS) induce calcium (Ca) dependent hemolysis which is directly proportional to Ca influx into red blood cells. To examine how BS's might facilitate Ca movement across membranes, we investigated Ca uptake by unilamellar phospholipid vesicles (PV)prepared from soy phosphatidates.

The effect of intracellular calcium level regulators on the synthesis of pollen tube callose in Oenothera biennis L.

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
It is shown that callose synthesis in the Oenothera biennis pollen tube is regulated by the endogenous Ca2+ level. Calcium antagonists reduced the amount of callose in the wall above the tip of the pollen tube (Verapamil - calcium channels blocker) and ...

Gemella morbillorum Promotes Colorectal Carcinogenesis: LPBDCP‐Mediated Invasion Activates Ras Signaling and Destabilizes p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

Duramycin-induced calcium release in cancer cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction: Duramycin through binding with phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) has shown potential to be an effective anti-tumour agent. However its mode of action in relation to tumour cells is not fully understood.

Anti‐Carbamylated Protein Antibodies Stabilize Carbamylated Histone H3 to Promote Synovial Activation and Neutrophil Extracellular Trap‐Mediated Bone Loss in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Carbamylation, a nonenzymatic post‐translational modification, contributes to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis. Anti‐carbamylated protein antibodies (anti‐CarP) occur in around 50% of patients with RA and associate with greater joint damage. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are a major source of carbamylated autoantigens. We sought
