Angiofibrolipoma of the Calf [PDF]

Angiofibrolipoma is a neoplasm composed of fibrocytes, capillaries and matured adipose tissues. It is a rare histopathologic variant of lipoma, characterized by matured adipocytes, blood vessels and dense collagenous tissues. It is an extremely rare tumor with very few cases reported in the literature.

Three cases of mesothelioma in calves are described. Two were full-term foetuses, the other was 3 months old. There was ascites in all three. The tumours formed multiple, discrete nodules on the parietal and visceral peritoneum, and in the older calf also on the pleura. Lymph nodes were unaffected.
