Frozen Soil Hydrological Processes and Their Effects: A Review and Synthesis
Abstract Frozen soils, including seasonally frozen ground and permafrost, are rapidly changing under a warming climate, with cascading effects on water, energy, and carbon cycles. We synthesize recent advances in the physics, observation, and modeling of frozen‐soil hydrology, emphasizing freeze–thaw dynamics, infiltration regimes and preferential flow,

δ‐Bismuth Oxide Responsible for Tooth Discolouration—A Laboratory Investigation
ABSTRACT Aims To investigate the phase changes of bismuth oxide in contact with sodium hypochlorite responsible for tooth discolouration. Methodology Bismuth oxide (monoclinic α−phase; C) was mixed with sodium hypochlorite at 20°C, 37°C, and 60°C (B20, B37, B60) for a period of 24 weeks with weekly refreshing of solutions.

Geometry Controls Confined Water Dynamics in Lipidic Mesophases
An archaeal‐inspired lipidic mesophase allows precise control of interfacial curvature and water‐channel connectivity. Combining structural, thermodynamic, and ultrafast spectroscopies, we reveal that curvature governs the structure and reorientation dynamics of confined water, establishing a molecular‐level link between topology and dynamics in soft ...

Dynamic vulcanization at higher shear rates refines PA/NBR morphology, reduces domain size, and maintains mechanical performance after reprocessing. ABSTRACT Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) of polyamide 6 and nitrile butadiene rubber (PA/NBR) present excellent mechanical properties but traditionally suffer from performance loss during re‐melt ...

Flexible riser structure, tie‐molecule arrangement, and XRD comparison of PE100, DOWLEX, and INTREPID polyethylene grades. ABSTRACT This study compares three polyethylene grades—a benchmark PE100 and two high‐temperature resistant polyethylene (PE‐RT) types (Type I and Type II)—to assess their suitability for flexible riser applications.

Powder diffraction pattern of hot‐pressed polythylene oxide/ polyacrylonitrile polymerelectrolyte composites. Polyethylene oxide (PEO)‐based solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) have been extensively studied for all solid‐state batteries (ASSBs) but still suffer from low thermal stability and ionic conductivity.

Non‐covalent protein–protein interactions mediated by SH3, PDZ, or GBD domains enable the self‐assembly of stable and biocatalytically active hydrogel materials. These soft materials can be processed into monodisperse foams that, once dried, exhibit enhanced mechanical stability and activity and are easily integrated into microstructured flow ...
